The Hallmark Dream Book came out this weekend — featuring all the Keepsake Christmas ornaments that will be released this year. It’s April! There is no need to think about decorations eight months in advance.
Before you expand your season, consider the tradeoff that comes from having something so pervasive that it becomes ignored. The longer you “feature” something, the more diluted it becomes.

You share a perspective I had not considered. Thanks.
I can’t speak to “Hallmark Keepsake” items, but oftimes the collectible world needs to sample the desire of it’s collectors early so that they can determine an appropriate production quantity balance. Limited run collectibles are hot items. Over-producing for a holiday run can cut heavily into profit margins. Under-producing leaves money on the table which the business needs for future development of similar products. It’s a carefully balanced decision-making process that much of the world is unaware of. In a tight economy this is even more important, since money devoted to collecting will often dry-up, being devoted to other priorities by the consumer.
