What do you do with empty retail space in airports? How do you give travelers something to do while waiting for their (often delayed) flights if they’re not interested in shopping? Gameway may have the answer to both.

The company is utilizing vacant stores in select airports and converting them into premium video game lounges. Their website reports that 79% of US adults engage in online games, making it a $100 billion industry. Gameway is trying to grab a slice of that revenue by repurposing space and turning it into a gaming haven. From the looks of the lounge at DFW, it’s working.

Think of how you can capitalize on an opportunity by pairing something in decline (retail in airports) with something trending (online gaming). Everything lost provides a chance for another to gain.

Thanks, Amy!
