In preparation for the winter season, we did some pruning of the trees in my yard. As a result, I amassed a big pile of cut branches that were too low or too close together.
But if a passerby looked at the trees, they would never notice that so many limbs were removed. In fact, the trees look quite ordinary. But I know that by removing some of the excess, it will make the tree healthier and more likely to grow in the springtime.
Every home or organization could benefit from some pruning as there is always an unnecessary accumulation that could be purged. You don’t have to go crazy, but taking a moment to clear out old files, remove unwanted items in the closet, clean out the pantry, or discard old equipment can help you prepare for a new year without the burden of excess.
Don’t wait until it becomes a dire situation. If you are the only one who notices your routine pruning, you’re doing it in a timely manner.
