One of my earliest childhood memories is sitting on our kitchen counter helping my mom make ham salad by turning the crank on the food grinder. I remember this because it was 6-6-66 and we had a conversation wondering what we would be doing on 7-7-77, 8-8-88, etc. I don’t think we envisioned the future far enough to consider 2-2-22 but here we are, or more accurately, here I am.
My mom and I “commemorated” all of the four-digit dates while she was alive, recounting those days long ago when leisurely grinding up ham was the afternoon activity. They provided touchpoints to link the past and the present and gave us an occasion to reflect on a shared memory.
Take advantage of this rare date sequence to create your own connection with someone that you’ll want to reminisce with on 3-3-33. Where will you be and what will your life be like? It makes for an interesting conversation today and great memories in 11 years.
