It was a balmy 45 degrees here yesterday — but from the way people acted, you would have thought it was 75. The sidewalks were bustling with people and dogs; kids were riding their bicycles, and more than one household started in on yard work. It was like spring — even though everyone knew it wasn’t actually yet spring.

Organizations can take a lesson from the change of seasons and make transitions gradually. You don’t have to wait for a full roll-out to engage people in the change that is coming. Sometimes, just showing signs of progress is enough to excite people and give them hope.
